Educational information
These calculators and explanations are for educational use. They are not financial, accounting, investment, tax, or legal advice. A calculator result is arithmetic based on the numbers you enter and the stated assumptions. It is not a prediction or a recommendation.
Input and model limits
Results depend on correct and consistently defined inputs. The tools do not inspect business records or determine accounting treatment. Simple ROI does not discount cash flows. Payback assumes constant annual cash inflows. CAGR does not adjust for deposits or withdrawals. Break-even assumes a single consistently priced product or service with constant per-unit variable cost.
Rounding and unsupported cases
Displayed values are rounded while calculations keep intermediate precision. Break-even also reports a rounded-up quantity for indivisible products. Very large or extreme inputs can exceed the numeric range supported by the browser. Invalid inputs produce a message instead of a financial result.
Sources and examples
Official sources support the formulas and historical teaching figures. The source organizations do not endorse this website. A worked example demonstrates the calculation and does not establish an industry benchmark or suggest that your business will achieve a particular result.
Business decisions
Verify the inputs, assumptions, and relevant records before relying on a result. Use qualified professional advice when a decision requires interpretation of accounting standards, tax treatment, contracts, or financial circumstances. This site supplies arithmetic tools rather than individualized conclusions.
