About Business Calculator
What this site does
Business Calculator provides browser tools for pricing, profit ratios, cost recovery, and growth. The homepage starts with ROI and links to dedicated calculators for each measure. The site covers business arithmetic. It does not offer products, handle transactions, or supply personalized business recommendations.
How results are computed
Each calculator uses the formula printed on its page. Results are computed locally from the entered numbers. Division inputs are checked, unsupported cases are explained, and nonfinite results are rejected. Display rounding is separate from the calculation. Break-even shows an exact quantity and a whole-unit quantity. Payback assumes constant annual net cash flow. CAGR uses beginning and ending values without intermediate cash-flow adjustments.
Official sources and examples
Formula references come from the SBA, IRS, FDIC, EPA, SEC Investor.gov, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and FGDC. A NOAA repository document supplies the break-even teaching example. A blocked original document is verified through a dated archived copy. The sources describe methods and historical examples. They do not endorse this site. Source examples are labeled and are not represented as current prices, industry averages, or expected returns.
Input privacy
The calculator code does not send entries to a server, store them in browser storage, or add them to URLs. Results remain visible only within the page while you use it. See the privacy page for hosting and possible advertising practices.
Choosing a tool
Use the calculator whose denominator and time basis match your question. Profit margin and markup measure different ratios. ROI is a percentage return; payback is a recovery time. Gross margin and contribution margin use different cost definitions. Every tool links back to the business calculator hub.
